Horizon Christian Fellowship, North County began at the Del Mar Hilton in 1993 with an estimated 75 people attending each Sunday. The church has since moved to its current campus in Rancho Santa Fe and ministers to over 3000 people weekly through four weekend services, a midweek service, weekly men's and women's Bible studies, a variety of youth programs and family ministries.
Horizon North County is an extension of Pastor Chuck Smith’s ministry at Calvary Chapel-Costa Mesa. In 1974, an assistant pastor at Calvary, Costa Mesa, Mike MacIntosh, was called by the Lord and sent by Pastor Chuck to begin a Bible study in San Diego. Pastor Mike's Bible study eventually led to the creation of Calvary Chapel- San Diego, later known as Horizon Christian Fellowship. In 1993 Pastor Mike sensed the Lord leading him to multiply the ministry by adding several additional satellite campuses around San Diego County. Thus, Horizon North County was formed and Pastor Mike asked one of his assistant pastors, Bob Botsford, to lead this newly planted church.
Pastor Bob Botsford served as an assistant to Pastor Mike for seven years before being sent out by Pastor Mike to serve as the Senior Pastor of Horizon North County. God has given Pastor Bob the ability to teach His Word in a simple, yet powerful way; allowing listeners of all ages to easily learn and apply the principles of the Bible to their daily lives. |
