“But we are bound to give thanks to God always for you, brethren beloved by the Lord, because God from the beginning chose you for salvation through sanctification by the Spirit and belief in the truth, to which He called you by our gospel for the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.” – 2 Thessalonians 2:12-14
A lot of things can be confusing these days. But do you know what can be perfectly clear for us today? We can know for sure how to think concerning the end times.
First, don’t freak out. Don’t be afraid. Why not? Because Jesus hasn’t abandoned you. He hadn’t left you here alone. You aren’t stuck on earth without hope. In fact, your hope lives on no matter what you experience here, because Jesus is coming for you and is right now building a home for you in Heaven. Now that’s good reason to not freak out!
Second, don’t be deceived. There is a spiritual thing going on in our world that is trying to deceive even those who believe in Jesus. It says, “Jesus isn’t really the only way to Heaven. Jesus isn’t really God. Anyone can be God, really.” Or it says, “I don’t need God. I’m fine on my own.” Don’t be deceived. Jesus is the only ticket to Heaven, the only one who can forgive our sins.
Third, don’t be stubborn. You know, I honestly have nothing but compassion for the lost, even being afraid for those friends and family members who consciously turn their back on Christ and justify their sin. My heart breaks for them, hoping that they would soften their hearts and be saved, that they would jump in the ark before the flood comes.
Fourth, don’t run away. God loves you, yet I know some people who say, “I’m not loved by the Lord. I don’t want the Lord to love me.” You know what? I’m sorry for the people who hurt you, but they’re not God. And I’m sorry that you rejected Him, but He hasn’t rejected you. Jesus came to save us, to demonstrate His ultimate love for us, and nothing you or anyone else does can change His love for you.
Come to Jesus today. Whether it’s the end times that have you worried, or whether it’s the present times, God’s love will cast out your fear if you will come to Him today.
Prayer—
Lord Jesus,
Thank You for coming to love and to save me! I put my trust in You today that You will take care of me now and always, even past the end of the world!
Amen
