It has been brewing for several years now, gaining momentum through massive book
sales and conferences. This Emergent church movement is the latest attack on the
Church. The saddest thing is that the attack did not come from the outside, it came from within. In this series, Pastor Bob Botsford exposes the flawed doctrine of the Emergent church leaders, calling them out by name, quoting their own words and comparing the weakness of their thoughts to the weightiness of the Word of God. The emergent church
is popping up everywhere in westernized Christendom. Have you bought into any of the lies that this divergent movement promotes? You might be surprised at how
affected you might be. Check out this jaw-dropping series to find out...
Here's what people are saying about Pastor Bob's recent series…
"I have seen multiple articles about this topic since you've begun addressing it. For some reason the media has really latched on to this. It's a great reminder of how much I appreciate the courage you consistently display in delivering the truth straight from the scripture! My family is truly blessed by your teaching and Horizon's bible based philosophy. It's very refreshing in a world that's getting more watered down all the time."
"Just wanted to take a moment to thank you for your teaching on Colossians. This is so critical for the health of the "Authentic" church. Over the years we have taught "Self Confrontation" which seems very popular in Calvary Chapels, and the focus is getting away from a "Preoccupation with Self", which seems to be the root of all Heretical Teaching. Again, we are appreciative, and enjoying your series, and glad to be at Horizon."
"Thank you so much for doing the series on the emerging church. It is something that is very much needed in today’s time for someone to stand up and stand firm against these ideas. "
"Thanks for telling it like it is! I can't imagine the amount of opposition you have/will receive as a "resister". Thanks for "Defending the Faith"!"
"Excellent message today. I have to confess the Emergent Church wasn't even on my radar. I am thankful to have a pastor who preaches the Word of God that I can submit to. "
"Thank you for the amazing sermon last night on the emergent movement. I purchased a CD for my husband. I cannot believe I had not heard of this before. Many others may have emailed you, but just in case, there was a large article on the emergent movement in yesterday’s paper. Thank you for opening my eyes before I read the article and cheered them on."
"Touché! So timely, so truthful. The emergent church doctrine is like a fungus in the Church. Thank you for your direct delivery of Truth."
"We have been greatly encouraged by the Church here at Horizon North County and continually strengthened in the faith. Under your lead pastorship we can see that you and the other pastors take very seriously that there be no compromise with the Word. Truly…Christ is preeminent, and he must be preeminent in our lives. "
"Thank you Pastor Bob for speaking up against the emerging church and Yoga. Both are weapons of Satan in these last days to try if possible to lead even the elect away. May God continue to bless you with His wisdom, grace and peace!"
"Hoping not to clog your in-box - just a note to tell you that the message ROCKED this past weekend (as per usual)…. thanks for always committing to presenting us the truth even if some feathers get ruffled. We are consistently encouraged by your messages….. and may you be encouraged to continue to speak the TRUTH of His Word…AMEN!!!!!"
"PB, the Holy Spirit was so present yesterday morning. I was moved to tears like I haven't been in a long time. Thank you so much for your message and again for standing so strong."
"Great message. Stand firm. Never falter. Never fall! Continue to prove El Shadddai strong!"
"My wife and I had been struggling with emerging influences entering our previous church and recently made the prayerful decision to move to Horizon where I had been actively participating in the Men’s program. Over the past few weeks, God has confirmed this decision and I thank Him for leading us to Horizon every day. I can tell that the message you have been delivering is difficult for many in the congregation to hear, but it is music to my ears (and God’s) and can not begin to offer enough praise and encouragement for your message. I pray that other church leaders will have the courage that you have shown in standing by God’s Word."
"Our first Sunday message was the first Colossians message “First Things First”. Praise the Lord! I feel as if I’ve been starving for solid food and drowning in milk. Now I’m gobbling up food with substance and texture and truth. Moving from Wonder Bread to Whole Grain…ha!"
"Thank you for being faithful to boldly proclaim God's truth--Jesus Christ and Him crucified. We stand with you united in prayer, faith, hope and love."
"A STRONG and LOUD Amen to yesterday's message!
We just wanted to let you know how much we appreciate your boldness in presenting God's truth.
Our prayers and love to you and your family."
Dear Pastor:
This is a heartfelt “Thank You” for telling us about the
so-called “emergent church.” I think my voice speaks for
a great many in your congregation. I was stunned to hear
that these men are out and about already, speaking so boldly.
Paul said there would be a falling away before the Lord
returns, and “false apostles and deceitful workers, transforming
themselves into the apostles of Christ.” That you know some of
these men must be a shock. Speaking out takes courage. I hear
your concern that you will be considered unloving or negative.
On behalf of your congregation, I urge you not to hesitate one
instant to speak out, and on no account soft pedal what you say.
Colossians is great for the concern you wish to express to any
in your flock who may have been influenced by them, but
Galatians 1:8, 9 is the bottom line for the men themselves:
“But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any
other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you,
let him be accursed.
As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach
any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let
him be accursed.”
That they call themselves the “emergent church” is irrelevant.
They are not the Church, period. The Church is the holy bride of the
LORD Christ. If her purity and devotion to her husband-to-be is
a turn-off for the local lechers, that is their problem, not hers.
It is the Groom who must be pleased in the end.
I will not be praying for these men. They are causing little ones
to stumble. What on earth would I pray – that there are enough
millstones to go around?!?!?
