Our Lead Pastor
Pastor Bob grew up at Forest Home Christian Conference Center in the mountains of Southern California where his parents served for 18 years. It was there in 1972 that Pastor Bob gave his life to the Lord and felt the initial call to full time ministry. Pastor Bob’s education has prepared him for ministry: he has a Master’s of Arts degree in Pastoral Studies, a Master’s of Divinity, an MBA in Economics, and a Doctorate in Ministry. He has also served on the staffs of Westminster Presbyterian Church in Philadelphia, Young Life, Youth Specialties, Youth Development, Inc. (YDI), the faculty of Point Loma Nazarene University and the FBI as the Chaplain for San Diego and Imperial Counties. In addition to ministering to over 3,000 people weekly, through multiple services, including numerous baptisms and events at Horizon, he also serves as a member of the Board of Directors for various ministries. He and his wife Bonnie live in San Diego County and have three children—Mitchell, Annie and Matthew, who serve alongside them in ministry.
